At Adobe, we pride ourselves on being a design-driven—and designer-driven— company. This is why we launched Design Circle — a group of senior design leaders, who work at large organizations or have founded companies, collaborating to create positive impact in business, society, innovation, culture, and careers.

We introduced this group at Adobe MAX in November, along with its pledge to provide leadership insights to the greater design community, through insightful articles, videos and events on the topics that matter most.

As part of the program, we’re introducing a new scholarship for ten promising young designers who will also benefit from the mentorship and network of Design Circle members. One of Adobe’s core missions is to give the youth of today the opportunity to learn and express themselves through creativity and technology, regardless of their economic or cultural backgrounds. Adobe’s Design Circle scholarship will do just that: we are awarding 10 annual college scholarships – up to $25,000 per year, for each year of the recipient’s undergrad education (up to four years or $100,000).

We’re excited to share that the application for this scholarship will go live in early January and stay open through March 12, 2020, and you can get full details on this scholarship here. If you’re interested in the program, we encourage you to register for our live webinar on January 16, where Jamie Myrold of Adobe will host Design Circle members Enrique Allen of Designer Fund, Antionette Carroll of Creative Reaction Lab, and Albert Shum of Microsoft. They’ll tell you more about the application process, answer your questions live, discuss some of the mentoring aspects of the program, and share their experiences in the design field.

We’re encouraging applicants of all backgrounds to apply, including, but not limited to those of racial or ethnic minorities, females, LGBTQ+ individuals, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities. The scholarship is ideal for students who want to enter product design or experience design-related careers (e.g. digital, web, UX/UI, industrial design, or similar).

In addition to the financial support, Design Circle members will also offer a variety of mentorship opportunities to scholarship winners, which includes, but is not limited to shadowing, internships, workshops, and networking. This will help strengthen the impact of the scholarship and provide real-world experience to the scholarship recipients during their education.

More to come from Design Circle

We have received a tremendous amount of interest in the program from fellow design leaders who want to get involved. So, we’re exploring ways to offer new opportunities to those who would like to join the program. We’ll be sharing more information in the coming months on how one can apply or nominate other senior design leaders to get involved. Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for more detail.

As we continue to build Design Circle, we hope you’ll come along with us. We have some exciting perspective articles, resources, webinars and events in the works, all of which you’ll find more details on at our Design Circle page.

Update: We’ve now announced the winners of the 2020 Design Circle Scholarship.
